Currency, exchange and credit cards

Danish money
In Denmark, the common currency is Danish kroner (DKK), both in form of coins and banknotes. If you arrive with, for example, euros or/and dollars, they can be exchanged into Danish kroner at bank affiliates at Copenhagen airport or in banks in the city. If you would like to check the existing exchange rates between your currency and Danish kroner, it is a good idea to visit the homepage of
the Danish National Bank.

Credit card
You should not be worried if you only have credit cards. Major credit cards such as Visa Card, American Express and Eurocard/Mastercard are widely accepted in Denmark. Cash dispensers (ATMs) outside banks offer 24-hour service and accept all major cards. If you fail to withdraw some cash from a cash dispenser, the banks should be able to help.
