The IT University basic principles

The IT University strategy rests on three basic principles. Below you can watch three movies with Mads Tofte, Jørgen Staunstrup, Lone Malmborg, Brit Winthereik Ross and Thomas Hildebrandt explaining the elements of the principles in their own words.

Basic principle 1

 A Unique View on IT
”Today technology is not just isolated techological products, but also products that are part of a greater context”

”IT is not only technological;it is also social, cultural and political”

Basic principle 2

That which Distinguishes the IT University's Programmes
”What we are offering students is an opportunity to combine certain fields that they do not have the opportunity to combine otherwise”

”The most important work we do to ensure the high academic level is in the recruitment of our teachers and researchers”

See film 2: That which distinguishes the IT University's programmes

Basic principle 3

 Expectations for Research
”Almost all research projects at the IT University are conducted in cooperation with external partners”

”Being motivated by both aspects means to both engross yourself in the insight and trying to understand the models but also to ask 'is this of any use to anyone?'”

See film 3: Expectations for research

The films were produced for the strategy revision process in the fall 2008.
