I've never done games before - alone & in groups(I have two friends (design students) in germany and we're planing to do a game for their bachelor thesis next year)
Imagine games like Deus Ex, Final Fantasy VII(europe), Fallout 3 - big, complex, polished games - as being pictured by a big delicious chocolate coated layer cake.
I'd like to create a small awesome cookie!
So delicious that you start missing it's taste right after you ate the last one of it. Yum : )
My interest in moderating, organizing and motivating the process from idea to final product is not bound to a certain type of game. I am interested in having a productive, inspiring and fun team experience. In creating a game together to be proud of and in love with - no matter if a cheerful jump 'n run with evil twists and dark humor, a dystopian nightmare vision with an ever optimistic main character or a highly experimental play concept.
Since we won't have tons of time at our hands, I would prefer to work on a game with a 2D visualisation (3D is possible - if you can come up with a very nice reason) so we can concentrate on gameplay, rules and fun.
For my beloved team I will take the bullets. I will cook tea and read stories if a team member feels not well.
And I will take full responsibility for our teams decisions and actions to the outside.
Therefore I expect my team mates to pour their heart into the project, and to make excellent use of their creativity.
I expect them to have strong opinions and not to hold them back (of course they should be discussable ; ).
And I expect them to have fun, to question and criticize my actions and to have fun - in case I forgot to mention it.
Take eight year old me. Sucking up knowledge like a sponge, introverted and so convinced about always being right that my grandfather even wrote a poem about it. Interest in other peoples thoughts & ideas (if not inside a book): close to zero.
But soon, as a result of my slight intelligence, I realized that I am not always right and that there is not only my world but million others out there. I became interested in other persons ideas and thoughts, in how they perceive the world and invested strongly in my communication and social interaction skills.
So taking my current me, you get a person, interested in your way seeing the world and in your ideas, healed by his grandfathers poem from being righteous (but sometimes falling back, if I get too emotional ; ), very openminded (I once talked 2 hours to a hooligan and tried to understand his point of view), tolerant, and kind of patient (I have been really extremely impatient as a child - always falling into other persons words to not explode).
Feel totally free to comment, ask or just write anything
